Ardian Advances Battery Storage Expansion in Finland with Second Investment
Our second battery energy storage investment in Finland is now underway! The strong collaboration between eNordic, Ardian Infrastructure, and Merus Power continues to drive progress. A big thank you to everyone who contributed to making this possible!
The Ardian Clean Energy Evergreen Fund (ACEEF) is strengthening its presence in Finland with a second battery energy storage system (BESS), one year after investing in the Mertaniemi project. This 30 MW/30 MWh facility reinforces Ardian’s commitment to sustainable energy infrastructure in the Nordic region.
The investment was led by eNordic, Ardian’s operating platform, and will benefit from OPTA, Ardian’s proprietary data analysis platform, which optimizes renewable energy management and supports new investments. The project was developed by Merus Power, a Finnish technology company specializing in power electronics, which will also oversee its construction, operation, and maintenance.
“Our first investment in Finnish battery storage was a significant milestone, and this second project further demonstrates Ardian’s commitment to clean energy expansion. With our experienced team and deep local market expertise, we continue to build sustainable value for our investors and identify new opportunities in the Nordics,” said Benjamin Kennedy, Managing Director Infrastructure – Renewables at Ardian.
This investment marks another step in Ardian’s strategy to enhance energy storage capacity and support the energy transition in Finland and beyond.
